The Consulate hosted a reception at the iconic Chicago Cultural Center to commemorate the 78th Independence Day of India. 

The event drew approximately 400 attendees, including members of the Consular Corps, elected officials, prominent members of the Indian-American community, friends of India, academics, and media representatives.

In his remarks, the Consul General highlighted India’s recent general elections, emphasizing the country’s enduring commitment to democratic values and its growing leadership in global economic growth and innovation.

Atul Wahi, President of UPA, along with several UPA Board members, also attended the celebration, reflecting the strong engagement of the Indian-American community in fostering bilateral ties.
